Sticky Garlic Chicken Noodles

Ingredients
  

  • For the Chicken
  • lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • For the Noodles
  • 12 oz noodles egg noodles, lo mein, or spaghetti
  • Salt for boiling water
  • For the Sticky Garlic Sauce
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • cup soy sauce low-sodium preferred
  • ¼ cup honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil optional
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water slurry
  • For Serving Optional
  • Sliced green onions
  • Sesame seeds

Method
 

  1. Cook the Noodles
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook noodles until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Cook the Chicken
  4. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Cook until golden and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  5. Make the Sticky Garlic Sauce
  6. Lower heat to medium. Add garlic to the skillet and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Stir in soy sauce, honey, vinegar, and sesame oil.
  7. Thicken the Sauce
  8. Add the cornstarch slurry and simmer until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
  9. Combine
  10. Return chicken to the skillet and toss to coat. Add cooked noodles and toss gently until everything is evenly coated.
  11. Serve
  12. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot.
