Ingredients
  

  • For the Biscuits
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter cubed
  • 3/4 cup cold milk or buttermilk
  • 1 cup diced cooked ham
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Swiss cheese

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut cold butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gently fold in diced ham and shredded cheese.
  5. Add milk or buttermilk and stir just until a soft dough forms.
  6. Turn dough onto a floured surface and gently pat to about 1-inch thickness.
  7. Cut into rounds and place on the baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 15–18 minutes, until puffed and golden.
  9. Cool slightly and serve warm.
