Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz pasta spaghetti, linguine, or penne
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 cups chicken or vegetable broth or water
  • ¾ cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • ¾ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes optional
  • Fresh parsley chopped (optional)

Method
 

  1. Start the Base
  2. In a large pot or deep skillet, melt butter with olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and cook gently until fragrant.
  3. Add Liquid & Pasta
  4. Pour in broth and cream. Add uncooked pasta and stir to submerge.
  5. Simmer
  6. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce thickens naturally.
  7. Finish with Cheese
  8. Reduce heat and stir in Parmesan until smooth and creamy.
  9. Season & Serve
  10. Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with parsley or red pepper flakes if desired.
