Season Chicken
Pat chicken dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.
Sear
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.
Make the Sauce
Reduce heat to medium. Add butter and garlic; cook 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in balsamic vinegar, honey (or brown sugar), chicken broth, and Italian seasoning. Scrape up browned bits.
Simmer
Bring sauce to a gentle simmer and cook 4–5 minutes until slightly reduced.
Finish
Return chicken to the pan. Spoon sauce over the top and simmer 5–7 minutes, until chicken is cooked through and coated in a glossy sauce.
Serve
Garnish with fresh herbs and serve hot.
