Ingredients
  

  • Pork
  • lb boneless pork loin or pork chops sliced into bite-size pieces
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch optional, for light crispiness
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Honey Garlic Sauce
  • cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce low sodium
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • For Serving
  • 2 cups uncooked jasmine rice
  • Sliced green onions
  • Sesame seeds

Method
 

  1. Cook the Rice
  2. Prepare rice according to package instructions. Fluff and keep warm.
  3. Prepare the Pork
  4. Season pork with salt and pepper. Toss lightly with cornstarch if using.
  5. Cook the Pork
  6. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add pork in a single layer and cook until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  7. Make the Sauce
  8. In the same skillet, add garlic and sauté briefly. Stir in honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and sesame oil. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  9. Thicken the Sauce
  10. Mix cornstarch and water, then stir into the sauce. Simmer until glossy and thick.
  11. Combine
  12. Return pork to the skillet and toss until fully coated.
  13. Serve
  14. Spoon pork and sauce over rice. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
