Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast, diced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Creamy Sauce
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • ¾ cup chicken broth or milk
  • cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ teaspoon paprika optional
  • Optional Add-Ins
  • Cooked turkey or beef bacon bits
  • Spinach or broccoli
  • Red pepper flakes for heat

Method
 

  1. Cook penne pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water and drain.
  2. Heat oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until golden and cooked through.
  3. Lower heat and add cream cheese and chicken broth. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add shredded cheddar cheese and paprika (if using). Stir until melted.
  5. Add cooked pasta and toss until evenly coated.
  6. Add pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
  7. Serve hot.
