Ingredients
  

  • lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 lbs potatoes thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion thinly sliced
  • 2 cups beef gravy or cream of mushroom soup + ½ cup milk
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • Optional: fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Shape beef into evenly sized hamburger steaks.
  4. Layer sliced potatoes and onions in the baking dish.
  5. Place hamburger steaks on top of the potatoes.
  6. Pour gravy evenly over the entire dish.
  7. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until potatoes are tender and the top is lightly browned.
  9. Rest 5 minutes before serving.
